On July 15, 2025, in Nairobi, individuals from the South Rift region of Kenya who had undergone below-the-knee (BKA) and above-the-knee (AKA) amputations successfully completed a stage of their rehabilitation. They were fitted with transtibial and transfemoral prosthetic feet, enabling them to regain mobility and independence.
During the rehabilitation process, they worked hard to adapt to walking with their new prosthetics. They looked forward to resuming their normal daily lives, supporting their families, returning to work, and contributing actively within their communities.
This achievement not only restored their physical mobility but also demonstrated the resilience and determination of people living with disabilities, while underlining the vital role of rehabilitation services in transforming lives
